Concierge Recommendations

While harmonizing every aspect of your stay at Santa Marina, your Luxury Collection Concierge will also, should you choose, secure you privileged access to the island’s other hotspots. As authorities on the Mykononian lifestyle, they have their fingers on the pulse of what’s trending and when to get there, and a knack for opening doors.

The most romantic place

With lovely narrow old streets full of little shops and restaurants, Mikri Venetia (Little Venice) is known as the most picturesque part of Chora, the capital of Mykonos Island.
This lovely little area comes alive especially in the evening when people gather from all over the island to watch the sunset. A truly magical aura indeed. The magnetic beauty of Little Venice is portrait by many artists in their priceless artworks, etchings and paintings.

A journey to the birthplace of Gods

A sacred site of history and intrigue, the island of Delos offers a unique vision of ancient Greek life and culture. Take a step back into ancient Greece where the gods and goddess held court and where reality and myth were considered equally important. As the birth place of Apollo and his sister Artemis, the island is deemed a sacred site. No mortals were allowed to be born or to perish on its otherworldly soil.

A dive into history

Overlooking Delos from the Chora harbor, this small museum houses numerous artifacts discovered during the island's excavation. Built in 1900, the museum was initially destined to house the findings from the excavation of the “purification pit” in Delos dating from the 5th century and the necropolis of Rhinia. The exhibition of the museum includes a large number of marble sculptures, ceramics, jewels and utensils, all findings from the excavations in Delos, Rhinia and Mykonos itself, dating back to the 25th century B.C., as well as many relics relating to the numerous battles and raids that plagued the island.

The most iconic landmark

The windmills are quintessential features of Mykonos landscape. In all, there were 16 such windmills in operation. They are conspicuous by their snow-white color, spherical shape with the customary pointed roof made of the finest variety of wood. The Windmills of Chora and the ones at Ano Mera were a great boon to the people of those localities and were primarily used for grinding the agricultural produce that was meant to be transported to places outside Mykonos.

Magnificent & whitewashed

One of the most popular and photographed churches on the whole island and in Europe. Built from 15th-17th centuries, what makes this church so unique is its architecture, which is an asymmetrical conglomeration of four churches into one a mixture of Byzantine, vernacular, traditional and western style.
Positioned near the main harbor entrance, this church by far one of the most famous of Mykonos, is the central feature of the “Kastro” or castle area, the oldest section of town.

Destination Authority

One of the island’s most exclusive venues for lunch, dinner and cocktails by the beach, of course, is Buddha Bar Beach at Santa Marina itself. Our Modern Greek menu and our seafood are renowned, as are our mixologists and DJ. Immersive music at the Buddha Bar Restaurant on the beach, with a full moon rising over still-warm sand and phosphorescence sparkling in the waves, is right where heaven meets earth.

Getting to Mykonos

Airport

Mykonos National Airport (JFK) is located 4 kilometers from the town of Mykonos. The transfer time from the town to the airport is about 10 minutes. During summer season the island is connected with Athens and many big European cities with direct flights.

Port

Mykonos has 2 main ports: the old and the new port. The old port is the smallest one and mainly used for transfers to nearby islands like Delos. The new Port, located a few metres away from the City of Mykonos, is where most feries and cruiseships ancor into.
